AI is moving fast.
How can data foundations keep up?

Date: November 05, 2026
Time: 9:00am - 10:00am (Eastern Time)
Location: Zoom

Governments worldwide are adopting AI in public services faster than they can build the data infrastructure those services depend on. Health ministries want sharper forecasts, and agriculture agencies want earlier warnings of food shortages. But AI is only as good as the data it runs on. In many countries, that data is fragmented, poorly documented, hard to share safely, or governed by policies that haven't caught up. Where AI is used in these conditions, it can sound confident and still be wrong. And people missing from the records end up missing from the results.

In this webinar, the Open Data Institute (ODI) and the Global Partnership for Sustainable Development Data bring together leaders from government, international organizations, and civil society. They'll ask what strong data foundations for AI look like in practice, where the biggest gaps are, and what countries at different starting points have done to close them.
